SOLAR STORM- What Is It?

Solar Storm is basically an massive eruptions of sun's mass and solar energy form the surfaces of the sun.
Our Sun is about 4 billion years in age and have temperature of about 10000℉. Its basically a hot glowing gases called the "PLASMA". The Heat and Light it generate makes our life possible in the Earth. But It also have a dark side. A single Great Geomagnetic Super Solar Storm can disrupt massively the modern civilization of Earth. Its worth to be mentioned that this storm will not destroy the earth into pieces or will cause extinction of life from the face of the earth. But it will take away the most essential thing that runs our civilization;"POWER SUPPLY AND TECHNOLOGY". All of a sudden all the power grids of different nations will get destroyed, internet services will get stopped instantly, banking and finacial transactions and even ATM services will be disrupted, transporation will get deferred and everything that is dependant on Power supply and Technology will get hampered. The entire civilization will instantly move into the Dark Phases.

The Sunspots are the EYE OF THE STORM. The Sun's surface is the most violent in the entire solar system. The sunspots are basically responsible for unleashing a Violent Solar Storm. When the sunspots are formed and it reaches a verge of formation of solar storm. it ejects a billion tones of super heated Plasma into the space which ultimately forms the Solar Storm.
I am pretty sure, we all are thinking about the magnitude of the explosion. So here is a small hint to it-

ALL THE NUCLEAR BOMBS ON EARTH  x   MANY MORE   MILLIONS TIMES く  SOLAR EXPLOSION, That means even all the nuclear explosions are less compared to the solar events. And another interesting fact is like the size of the Sunspot could fit many Earths into it. Records of the past astronomical events, shows that every 11 years there is a increse of Sunspots in the Sun. This period is called SOLAR MAXIMA. And Currently We are entering the phase of Solar Maxima.

Now to understand the formation of the Solar Storm, its important to know how the sun gets its energy.
The powerhouse of the Sun is produces so much energy that 1 second of which can power the the entire civilisation for years. The pressure here is so intense that it creates havoc disruption in the atomic scales. Deep below there are hydrogen atoms that are travelling at a millions speed/hr. When two hydroen atoms collide it creates a Nuclear Fusion with releasing a huge amount of energy. This energy consists of highly energetic particles "Photon" what we usually see as the Sunlight. This solar particles can takes 1000 years to reach up the Sun's surface and actually light up the solar system. The Sunlight that we see today was actually created during the Last Ice Age. Besides these energy there i

s another energy which is known as the "MAGNETISM" the force which serves as the governing forces for the formation of Solar Storms. Beneath 60000 miles from the Sun's surface, all the energy that have accumulated in the Convection Zone ,there forces up the hot plasma towards upwards direction. Due to magnetism this sometimes create a Dynamo or Loop like structure called the Magnetic Loop or the CORONAL LOOPS. This Magnetic Loop gives birth to the Sun Spots. This Magnetic Loops forms two sunspots and there energy gets combined as they merges together. These Loops are a highway between two Sunspots.





PHASE 1- FORMATION OF SOLAR FLARE

Sunspots can form anywhere in the surface, which will take the shape of solar storm can be identified by sound of the Sun. As the sun rotates the sunspots that lie in zone of contact with the Earth, is called the KILL ZONE. As the energy buildup rises in the Coronal Loop, it reaches the explosion point, seems to be the twisting of the elastic bands, which ultimately snaps out. Here as the Coronal loops twists among themselves they blows up releasing the massive amount of energy. The explosion creates a Solar Flare that makes up the explosion of about bursting a Thousand Nuclear Bombs. With all these, the X-rays, Gamma Rays, UV Rays all gets thrown up in the space in a massive amount. And if the earth lies in the KILL ZONE it faces the direct consequences.
 With these massive forces upwards there is also a massive outbreak beneath the Sun's Surface known as the Solar Tsunami. And also Huge storm of flares races upto a miles/hr in the Sun's Surface. This all incidents can take place with a duration of 1 hr.
This Solar Flares can block the Radio And Satellite Communications in the Earth. Here the Earths Upper Atmosphere act a shield to do furthur damage.



PHASE 2- CORONAL MASS EJECTION (CME)

With the snapping of the of Coronal Loops it also emits huge portion of the hot plasma of the Sun. While some of it gets back to the Sun due to its magnetic forces but the other plasma masses rushes to the Earth. This time the earth can have a potential blackout from the entire electricity supply and Satellite Communication. This is called as the Geomagnetic Storm (G- Storm).
This creates a immense magnetic field which can entirely cut off the technology that the Mankind
rely on.
As the Solar Particles enters the Earth Atmosphere it tear apart the magnetic field of the Earth like an elastic rubber bands and the part of the Solar Particles falls in the Earth atmosphere. These particles can be both postively and negetively charged. As the solar particles descends down, it makes visible changes in the Atmosphere. The Nitrogen sparks as the blue, oxygen as red and green. Resulting in the Aurora in the entire atmosphere.

CARRINGTON EVENT- (SEPTEMBER 1859 GEOMAGNETIC STORM)

The September 1859 geomagnetic storm (also known as the Carrington Event) was a powerful geomagnetic storm during solar cycle 10 (1855–1867). A solar coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth's magnetosphere and induced the largest geomagnetic storm on record on September 1–2, 1859. The associated "white light flare" in the solar photosphere was observed and recorded by British astronomers Richard C. Carrington and Richard Hodgson. The storm caused strong auroral displays and wrought havoc with telegraph systems. The now-standard unique IAU identifier for this flare is SOL1859-09-01.

A solar storm of this magnitude occurring today would cause widespread electrical disruptions, blackouts and damage due to extended outages of the electrical grid. The solar storm of 2012 was of similar magnitude, but it passed Earth's orbit without striking the planet, missing by nine days.
